Dirty Martini vs. Martini with a Twist – Which One Are You?
Two martinis, two totally different vibes. If you’re an olive lover, a Dirty Martini is the way to go—the dirtier, the better. If briny cocktails aren’t your thing, a Martini with a Twist is a crisp, elegant choice. One thing remains true for both: they should always be stirred, never shaken.
Personally, I go for gin over vodka—classic, botanical, and true to the original recipe. But at the end of the day, it’s all about what suits your palate.
Which one are you ordering?
Dirty Martini Recipe
• 2.5 oz gin (or vodka, if you must)
• 0.5 oz dry vermouth
• 0.5–1 oz olive brine (the dirtier, the better!)
• Stir with ice until well chilled, then strain into a chilled martini glass
• Garnish with at least three olives
Martini with a Twist Recipe
• 2.5 oz gin (or vodka)
• 0.5 oz dry vermouth
• Stir with ice until well chilled, then strain into a chilled martini glass
• Express a lemon peel over the glass and drop it in
Whether you’re team olive or team twist, a well-made martini is always a mood. Cheers!
