The Perfect Margarita: My Go-To Recipe
There’s nothing like a perfectly balanced margarita—fresh, zesty, and just the right amount of smooth. I skip the overly sweet, pre-made mixes and keep it simple with high-quality ingredients. Here’s my favorite way to make a margarita:
Ingredients:
• 2 oz tequila (go for a good blanco or reposado)
• 1 oz Cointreau or Grand Marnier (instead of triple sec)
• 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
• Agave syrup to taste (optional, if you like it sweeter)
• Ice
For the Rim:
• Half salt, half Tajín for a perfect mix of savory and spicy
Instructions:
Prep the glass – Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip it into a mix of salt and Tajín.
Mix it up – In a shaker, combine tequila, Cointreau or Grand Marnier, and fresh lime juice. If you like a touch of sweetness, add a little agave.
Shake it well – Add ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill and blend the flavors.
Serve – Strain into your rimmed glass over fresh ice.
Enjoy – Sip and enjoy the perfect balance of citrus, smoothness, and a hint of spice from the rim!
This margarita is simple, fresh, and full of flavor. Once you try it this way, you might never go back to store-bought mixes again!
